Miniature Train Ride and R.R. Museum at Lakes Park

Hidden in the scenic environs of this 279
acre park, a miniature train takes passengers
along an enchanting 15-17 minute ride along
a route that stretches over one mile.



Spend the day with a train ride and picnic
in Lakes Park. There is also an outdoor eatery.
Explore the lake on a paddle boat, canoe or
 or kayak. Bike rentals are also available.

 
 
 The Gift Shop sells train caps, whistles,
hats, t-shirts, canteens and more.

The train meanders beside lakes
through a tunnel, passing miniature
villages, a waterfall, a windmill and
crosses a trestle bridge over the
water. The train glides along 
 safely at a gentle
 speed.

On display near the train terminal see
 the restored Locomotive No.143  (below)
 built in 1905. It was used in the Atlantic
Coast Line, the first railroad to come
to Ft. Myers. Nearby, a small museum
revisits the area's railroading past.

 
The train ride costs $5.00 for adults
and children 6 years and up. Children
1 to 5 years of age ride free with an
adult. (Limit 2 children per adult)
 
Restricted from ride: Pregnant women
 and infants under 1 year old.
 
Ticket prices vary during special events like
"Halloween Express" and "Holiday Express".
